ACM has multiple sites of online store TI-84shop taken down

This week, the Netherlands Authority for Consumers and Markets (ACM) had multiple sites of online store TI-84shop taken down. TI-84shop sold various consumer electronics such as game consoles. Consumers had filed many complaints with ACM’s consumer information portal ACM ConsuWijzer.

After obtaining a court authorization, ACM had the website taken down. This marked the first time that ACM used this power.

Now that the online store is offline, no more orders can be placed. ACM advises affected consumers that are still waiting for their products or that wish to get their money back to contact the online store using the contact details that they have. In addition, consumers can contact ACM ConsuWijzer if they do not have that information or wish to file new reports regarding similar practices. On ACM ConsuWijzer’s site, we explain step-by-step how consumers are able to exercise their right.

The digital economy is one of ACM’s key priorities in 2024. The main principle is that consumers are able to make online purchases with confidence.
