DTe: No Delay in Liberalisation Energy Market

According to Mr. J.J. de Jong, the Director of the Office of Energy Regulation (DTe), there is no reason to postpone the next step in the liberalisation of the energy market. He is confident that all the parties involved will co-operate to ensure that small and medium-sized companies are able to switch to a different supplier as of 1 January 2002, if they wish to do so. Mr De Jong made a statement in an open letter to all parties on the energy market.

The letter deals at length with the issue of the cancelling supply contracts and switching from one supplier to another. In addition, the letter sets out how the process of changing electricity and gas meters will take place.
