NMa Conditionally Approves Takeover of Razob by Essent

The Netherlands Competition Authority (NMa) has approved the takeover of N.V. Regionale Afvalverwerkingmaatschappij Zuidoost-Brabant by Essent Milieu B.V. This is subject to a condition with regard to RAZOB's organic waste installations in Deurne and Acht. Essent may only takeover these installations if it sells one of its organic waste installations to an independent third party, approved beforehand by NMa, within eight months.

Essent and Razob are active in the waste disposal branch, for instance, in the area of the collection, transportation and processing of waste. As a result of the merger, the parties would obtain a strong position on the market for the composting of organic waste. Through the sale of Essent's organic waste installation, this competition problem will be solved and the takeover may proceed.
