NMa Draws up Report on KWS for Refusing to Co-operate

The Netherlands Competition Authority (NMa) has drawn up five reports on the company Koninklijke Wegenbouw Stevin (KWS) because the company refuses to co-operate with NMa following a request to inspect documents. In addition, KWS has refused to grant the cartel authority access to one of its offices. The maximum fine which NMa may impose for refusing to co-operate in an investigation is EUR 4500 (four-thousand-five-hundred euros).

In April 2002, NMa carried out an investigation at various locations and subsidiaries of Koninklijke Wegenbouw Stevin B.V. into possible infringements of the Competition Act. On the basis of evidence from the parallel accounts of Mr A. Bos and various other sources, NMa is investigating infringements of the Competition Act in the construction sector.
